The National Strategy for Homeland Security and the Homeland Security Act of 2002
served to mobilize and organize our nation to secure the homeland from terrorist attacks.
This exceedingly complex mission requires a focused effort from our entire society if we
are to be successful. To this end, one primary reason for the establishment of the
Department of Homeland Security was to provide the unifying core for the vast national
network of organizations and institutions involved in efforts to secure our nation.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is a multi-faceted organization. It remains a state-
level law enforcement agency working in close partnership with other agencies to protect
the public. At the same time, DPS is a service organization providing a broad range of vital
scientific, technical, operational and regulatory services to Arizona’s citizens and the
criminal justice community. The Department's primary responsibilities, however, rest in
the areas of traffic, narcotics, organized crime/racketeering, liquor and specific regulatory
functions. Additionally, the DPS provides operational and technical assistance to local and
state governmental agencies and other components of the criminal justice community.
The purpose of this site is to provide information to the public concerning the location of
sex offenders within Arizona. This site is NOT intended to supplant the community
notification process, but rather, it allows the criminal justice community to promote public
awareness concerning the potential threat that sex offenders pose to Arizona citizens. An
informed public is a safer public!
The Child Safe Network's mission is to protect our nations most valuable asset, our
children! The organization is dedicated to educating and preventing missing, and abducted
children. Due to the passing of Megan's Law, convicted sex offenders must register with
local police in the communities in which they live. The Child Safe Network provides parents
and guardians with the ability to search these databases of convicted sex offenders.

The Family Violence Prevention Fund works to prevent violence within the home, and in the
community, to help those whose lives are devastated by violence because everyone has
the right to live free of violence.
Project Safe Neighborhoods is a nationwide commitment to reduce gun crime in America
by networking existing local programs that target gun crime and providing these programs
with additional tools necessary to be successful.
MADD's mission: to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent
underage drinking.
